This notice sets out our responsibilities to you under the existing Data Protection rules and the new GDPR legislation. It sets out how, as the data controller we look after the data we collect from you.

JL Driving Tuition is hereafter referred to as 'we', 'our' or 'us'. The pupil is hereafter referred to as 'you.'

Information we may collect from you

Personal data means any information about an individual from which that individual can be identified. We may collect, use, store and transfer some personal data about you. The data we collect may include:

• Name and date of birth.
• Contact information, such as home address, email address and telephone numbers. We may hold a second address if required. This may be a work or educational establishment address.
• Payment information for lessons. While we collect information on the method of payment for our own financial records, we do not store any information about bank accounts used to pay us.
• Lesson information including dates, times, duration and your performance scores. We may also record dates and results of theory tests and results of practical tests.

How is your personal data collected?

This personal data may be collected from you in our introductory phone call to you.

How we use personal data

We will use personal information only for the purposes for which we have been provided such with such information.

• The contact and driving license information will only be used for contact purposes and for purposes of verifying identity for vehicle insurance purposes.
• Payment information is only processed for our financial records.
• Lesson records are only processed for the purposes of your training.

Sharing your personal data

We do not share your data with any third party for any reason.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties if we are under a duty to comply with any legal obligation; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of others.

Consent

We do not send out any direct marketing.

We send out emails to remind you of lesson bookings, to notify you of payments and charges for lessons and performance reports. We will actively ask for your consent to send these at the start of your affiliation with us.

We will actively seek your consent to publish any photo we take, along with your name, on our website in the event of a practical test pass.

Protection of your personal data

We are committed to protecting your privacy and have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. However, the nature of the Internet is such that the data may in some circumstances flow over networks without full security measures and could be accessible to unauthorised persons.

CCTV

CCTV is only recorded for insurance purposes. We do not record video or audio inside the vehicle.

Data Retention

We keep personal data for the duration of the your training. We will delete this data one year after the end of the practical test pass or the last contact with you, or if the affiliation is ended either verbally or in a written format by you.

We may need to retain some personal data for longer for legal or regulatory purposes.

Cookies

Our website does not use cookies.
